Day By Day Itinerary
Have an early breakfast from the hotel in Kigali, where your driver will pick you up from; brief you about the 2-day Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda. He will then take you for a city tour; where you will be able to Visit the Genocide memorial site with information and memories of the shading of blood during the 1994 genocide and also visit some local markets, then have lunch and transfer to Volcanoes National park which lies on an altitude of 2400m to 4,507m, situated about 80 km from Kigali.
On reaching the park that is if you are still in time visit the Ibywachu village. Have dinner and overnight as you prepare for gorilla trekking on the next day. Overnight at Da vinci Gorilla Lodge(Mid-range) and Fatima hotel musanze (Budget)
In the morning after breakfast transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters by 7:00am where you will be briefed by park rangers about the rules concerning trekking.
After briefing, start off with trekking along the paths in the bamboo forests, it is an amazing activity where it can take between 2 to 6 hours to track the mountain gorillas.
When you meet the gorillas face to face you will watch them jumping from branch to branch, feed, play among other things; Only 1 hour is given to trekkers to watch the gentle giants.
You will also see buffaloes, monkeys, birds, and elephants through the forests. Later, transfer back to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer back to Kigali to your accommodation or the airport.
